Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized Field day on HDPS Cotton cum demonstration of cotton stubble incorporation through shredder under special project on Cotton, ICAR-CICR titled “Targeting technologies to agro-ecological zones-large scale demonstration of best practices to enhance cotton Productivity” under NFSM 2024 at Kuravi Village Mandal on 13-11-2024 in the field of Sri M. Venkat Reddy, who had sown with Pneumatic planter variety of RCH-929 with spacing of 90 x15 cm. Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension) explained about CICR Cotton special project objectives, scope of area in the district and present year achievements in HDPS Cotton. Sri B. Kranthi Kumar, SMS (Crop Production) explained Importance of HDPS Cotton, weed management, nutrient management, importance of Cotton stalk shredding using cotton shredder, He also explained about IPM practices for different crops in the current situation and different crops grown in Yasangi season with suitable varieties. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal explained, importance of machine sowing (Pneumatic planter) and Canopy management in HDPS Cotton, how the farmer success last three years in HDPS cotton cultivation and fallowed cropping, stressed on benefits include reduction in pink boll warm, uniform boll bursting and yields. Sri M. Venkat Reddy farmer explained last three years experiences on HDPS Cotton, related to selection of varieties, sowing time, Canopy management and last two years net returns, fallowed cropping and expected yield current year.
